What did Jesus imply by saying, "This is my blood of the new coveneant, which is poured out for many."? Consider that the Passover was a Jewish festival that remembered when a plague of death "passed over" the home of those Jewish people who marked their doors with blood from a lamb. Jews remembered this day with a feast of unleavened bread.

I believe that Jesus meant that it is thru His blood, thru His sacrifice and death, that we were saved and redeemed of our sins. That it is in His death that we were reborn and made new. All we need to do is believe and trust in Him and accept Him as He is, our God and Saviour!

Why does Jesus consider this woman`s desire to please Jesus more important than giving to the poor?

as Jesus said, u can always do good to the poor anytime but its a rare opportunity to serve and please Jesus.......

At any period of any society there will always be the poor due to diverse circumstances. .Youll have the opportunities to help them or do good whenever you want. But the opportunity to anoint in gratitude and honour Jesus Son of God is known only to a privileged few at a specific point in time in mankinds history. For the Saviour that cleansed man off his sins and offered eternal life through his personal sacrifice, no price or acts of kindness can ever repay Jesus ransom for our sake. So what is some perfume however valuable be ever sufficient for the price Jesus paid for saving all mankind both poor or rich?
