Jesus was angered by religious people inappropriately taking people`s money (robber`s den). Why did Jesus take such dramatic action and not just condemn with words? He show his anger to remind this people that they doing wrong in the temple of God. They have to respect the temple of God.

The temple is regarded as the house of God, it is sacred and is meant for prayers. It is not meant as a public Market place. As the temple priests have allowed traders to carry on trading, they will not abide to Jesus words of condemnation. Jesus action was meant both for the traders and temple administration as well to treat the temple as it was meant to be.
