1013 entries for this category: Jesus answered their question with a question because they were skeptical and cynical: they refused to believe that Jesus is from God and accused him of blasphemy and in their cynicism allied Jesus extraordinary deeds to the work of the devil. A honest answer would only increase their skepticism. They were blinded by the "holiness" of priests and are scared even to question them. Thats why Jesus said the people had eyes but do not see, and ears that do not hear. This applies also to those who refused to believe or accept Jesus in our day.

Jesus taught us to forgive those who are against us "so that your Father will also forgive you your transgressions " and grant whatever you pray with complete faith and trust in God. Otherwise like the fig tree which failed to produce fruits it will wither away. This is Gods condition.

The temple is regarded as the house of God, it is sacred and is meant for prayers. It is not meant as a public Market place. As the temple priests have allowed traders to carry on trading, they will not abide to Jesus words of condemnation. Jesus action was meant both for the traders and temple administration as well to treat the temple as it was meant to be.
