Jesus taught us not to judge others because we tend to pass judgement on specific incidences. Only God see the heart and the person as a whole, so leave God to judge. Examine our own behaviour and correct the ways where we fall short of Gods expectations first. For only those with light can lead others from darkness.

Matt 5:43-44 Jesus preached to "love your enemies and those who persecute you" That you may be sons of your father in heaven . Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly father is perfect.Jesus extended love to those who chase him out when he first preached in the synagogue(Luke 4:29), at the cross where the ask God to forgive his persecutors(luke23:34) and in all his teachings especially in the two most important commandments " to love your neighbour (everyone including your enemy) as you love God. And to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and body"

In the famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught the profound meanings of Gods truth. In mourning one understands the meaning of sadness and the value sharing happiness with those who are alive,  in suffering one feels how the sufferer experiences the pains and sorrows, and understands how to empathise with those who suffer, in hunger one feels the pangs of hunger and the need to help the hungry  and in poverty one will appreciate how to value whatever one has. The spiritual gains from having negative experiences, enhances our deeper understanding and feeling. This enables us to empathy with those who are in that state. Such experiences makes us realise how fortunate one is being blessed . This modes us to be more Jesus like.
