Define "Compassion"?
Compassion is the gift of feeling what the other person feels, to understand and appreciate his thoughts and emotions, to be able to see and feel how it is to be in the other person's situation. I call it a gift, a gift from God most specifically, because we can not do that on our own as humans. We need the grace from God, His wisdom and compassion, to be compassionate too.

Define "Compassion"?

compassion- to suffer together with (wiki)

Jesus willed himself to be born of flesh, to suffer with us ,and much more, suffered for us in order to spare us.

Who has compassion of this magnitude, to be able to forgive the blackest of sin, only Jesus. And to have compassion like this, he must love us with a love so true, so pure and everlasting.

Jesus, my Lord, with your love, hope I love others because on my own i don't know how. And by my loving others may I magnify and glorify God!

Jesus, with your compassion, i wish to forgive others, as i place myself in their shoes and understand their situation. I don't have enough compassion, so i tap into your compassionate resource. as i show compassion for others may i realize my own inequities/shortcomings and be humbled by it.

Thank you Lord Jesus for your compassion and mercy.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

...that people then eat only 2 major meals a day

...that people at Jesus' time would sleep on roofs during hot nights.

...that Jesus belongs to the middle class being a carpenter's son and a carpenter himself.

...that when Jesus entered Jerusalem on a colt and when they had the last supper with Him it was during the celebration of the Passover

...the difference between the Pharisees and the Sadducees (i'd like to read more about it)

...that women were considered 2nd class citizens
