Why did Jesus choose such a humble entrance (riding on a donkey) when He came into Jerusalem? It was a prophecy that He will come riding on a donkey merely to say that God fulfill everything He says.

Why did Jesus choose such a humble entrance (riding on a donkey) when He came into Jerusalem? Jesus did not liken Himself to any earthly king with pomp and glory. He chose to be humble and demonstrate this by riding a donkey when he entered Jerusalem. It was also a way of identifying Himself with the common people and the lowly ones who He clearly favored.
