Why were fulfillment of prophecies important? "note: Jesus predicted his death and resurrection? "...saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again...". There are also many accounts in the old testament describing the death and resurrection of the Messiah hundreds to thousands of years before the event.

Because its God's way of proving His power, that He is really God, our Creator, our Father, who loves us so much to sacrifice HIs only Son for our salvation.
