Why is it Jesus speaks so strongly against divorce and remarriage? Jesus speaks so strongly about divorce because divorce violates God's original intention in marriage. Though the rule of divorce is mentioned in both the testaments, that rule of divorce was made by man (Moses). God didnt make any rule about divorce. God has instituted marriage in the garden of Eden. God chose to bind man and woman, not to seperate. Jesus taught us to forgive each other.
