1525 entries for this category: Why do you think Pilate gave Jesus the title "King of the Jews"? Pilate knew Jesus was innocent. It was the Jewish high priests who wanted Jesus to be crucified. Writing an inscription like this was an indirect way of making a mokery of the Jewish high priests. This inscription was an indirect way of saying that Pilate was against the high priest's demand to crucify Jesus. Pilate was also expressing his contempt for the Jewish people, implying that such an individual was the only kind of king they deserved. This also shows us how God uses sinful men to accomplish His sovereign purposes.

Why was the crowd so intent on having Jesus crucified? People are not beliveving Jesus is a king of jews they are angry with Jesus that is why they wre crowed so intent on having Jesus crucified.
