1525 entries for this category: Why were the Jews so angry that Jesus claimed to exist before Abraham was born? Jesus' clear statement of deity made the jews angry so as to throw stones at him. They didnt believe that Jesus existed before Abraham. For them Abraham was the nearest person to God. Jesus was young, therefore they didnt believe that he existed before Abraham who died at old age. They didnt know Jesus was eternal. They also felt that Jesus was trying to falsely glorify himself. All this made them angry.

What does it mean to have God as your Father? To have God as my father means that I am totaly secure and fearless, because his words are true, which therefore enables me to live a true righteous life. He provides everything to me even before I ask him. His words teaches me to live a sinless life, through which I gain salvation and a way that leads me to eternal life.
