Why were the chief priests and scribes angry, what was it that Jesus said? The chief priests and the scribes were angry against Jesus because Jesus spoke against them. Jesus told this parable to them because the chief priests and the scribes were against Jesus' teachings. Jesus explained to them what would the consequences be if they rejected his teachings. Though they rejected jesus, how he would rule as a king one day.
