Why was Zaccheaus so joyful when Jesus asked to stay at his house? Zaccheaus was a tax collector and was seen as a sinner man. Though he was considered a sinner, he was ready to repent from his sins. Jesus was so happy with his decision that he decide to stay in his house. This gave Zaccheaus a solid evidence that his sins have been forgiven and he had received salvation. This is why he was filled with joy.
