Why is it evil to use oaths? It is evil to make oaths because sometimes we might falsly make oaths to prove someone that we are telling the truth. Jesus is the truth, He wants all His people to speak only the truth. When we speak only the truth, there is no need to promise by oath. Making false oath is a sin.
