Jesus took careful time to explain all things about his death and resurrection. Does this give you confidence in his words and promises, knowing he and others had predicted his death and resurrection? "Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself."
The disciples knew all that had to happen and saw it happening and yet called Jesus a prophet and needed being reminded again by that stranger. Prophetised - occurred - recounted after their non recognition: mirrors Peter's three denials. They do not even recognise him fully till the breaking of the bread. In the end someone may have told this stranger about all that. But none apart from them had seen Jesus breaking the bread and raisng the cup: with those same slow meaningful gestures. Too sad and rationalsing...I despair I may have found the experience even more unsettlin and fallen in  a state of disbelief: Jesus was resurrected in his body ...how does it come that they do not recognise him? spooky we would say nowadays...they must ahve been in a state of dazzling sadness and in this i can identify.

Why were fulfillment of prophecies important? "note: Jesus predicted his death and resurrection? "...saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again...". There are also many accounts in the old testament describing the death and resurrection of the Messiah hundreds to thousands of years before the event.
Every step is taken after the step taken on the basis of the promise of taken that rightful step. Each turnin your eyes fixed on God like Moses on the pillar of fire, you renew the promise and evry time you are shown the next step. Do you keep the promise and renew the Alliance or do you take another direction? The promises regarding the promised Messiah were treasured in the communal memory of the people who were to think of the sacrifial lamb and the Sacrificial Lamb...annointong the disciples he would have left them.As others the prophets had preceded him. It was the thread of the past and future history of salvation and deliverance.

How does The tender/respectful care of Jesus`s body given by Joseph of Arimathaea make you feel?
Moving...makes you think of Joseph tha adoptive earthly father and now that we approach the nativity of Jesus, you cannot help thinking of newly become father Joseph wrapping up the shivering littel body and holding Mary and child in a tight warm embrace. His beard must have tickled baby Jesus face...now probably this other elderly bearded Joseph ...no motions from that dead body tended too with equal love. Hands taking care of a baby and of adult Jesus..son of a crapenter....make you think of the uknown  carpenter who crafted that cross on which Jesus dies. And of the wooden manger in which he was laid to rest with utter love.
