He is welcoming with open joy the gift sent from Heaven like a small child.Yesterday was doing a reading with a student of mines. She is 8 and had to read a passage called' Why is the fir tree the symbol of Christmas'?. Cause we decorate it the Catholic book said. What have you heard now (from or about Jesus) , that you may not understand until later? It is not so much a quetsion of undersatnding as it is written in plain clear words in the books of the prophets and Jesus spells it out very clearlhy again. Take the words literally...but it is hard to do. The disciples. those closest to him, could not- Refused to? The Savior was born. The Savior is alive. The Savior is healing.The Savior must die?! how can he bring healing via his death? if my memory does not tricke me again, the Transfiguration still has to come. But that they understand even less: they think that it announces the coming back of the prophets. Let us make tents on the hill of Jerusalem for those who left and will come again. Like Jesus with the Resurrection. The message does not click though.
