Why does Jesus tell the growing crowd that one must be willing to renounce everything, including one`s own life, to be Jesus` follower? It is a challenging paradoxical statement: if you realise that to be adopted in the Family, you need to reject the teachings that came from the blood family.As we are all created as God's children, we alll hold some of His Teachings in different percentage. We are called to a full acceptance. Does Jesus get rejected and hated by the blood family? they then would break the cornerstone teaching that He embodies in flesh: the Law of Love. Then they show no love towards me either and so would have rejected God Who is love too by rejecting His Son, the friend i brought in. Focusing on love i also feel that out of this love i need to hook to safety with Jesus help those I am called to love most: it would not be the highest price would it?

Like a mother hen How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings These words came to mind tonight when i asked my Congo priest student to tell me about the other African priests in the Florence Archidiocesis: two from Benin, 8 from Congo, 1 from Cameroun, 1 from Senegal...i lost the count but he knows exactly how many boys under his charge, 30plus among 280something priests in the whole of Florence. They are having an African reunion right now like every monday.Pray for them all :) And the other priests from other continents who have been called to stock up the decreasing resources in Italy.
