Why did Jesus say "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."?

The real true Nourishment is the Milk Jesus himself suckled from His mother the devout Jewess: the Word of God transmitted in the OT and then made flesh and given to us all to partake via His Body and His teachings. All the future generations will call me blessed, had Mary said in the Magnificat.Indeed, it is difficult not to look at Mary as blessed for having been made the vessel that was to hold the Word made flesh and give him earthly nourishment.I am venturing out saying that that 'on the contrary', probably, does not have to be taken literally but as a provocative awakening challenging statement that Jesus makes to remind us all that each of us can be the 'womb' that holds him, via the Eucharist and his teachings ministered to us via His annointed ministers' homilies, and brings Him out into life as good works of love nourished by a love that should mirror Mary and Joseph's.

Was Jesus prayer about bringing heaven to people on earth, or about bringing people on earth to heaven?

It's a two way street like the Incarnation and Ascension to Heaven. The Holy Spirit travels both ways, via Jesus through Mary and also through anyone of us who partake of His Word and Body. And transfuses it in this world to whoever the Lord lays at our feet.Eyes bound on earth open to see which are the neigbours in need and heart planted in Heaven.

Suppose this lawyer, right after questioning Jesus, saw a man half dead in the road. What do you think this lawyer would do?

Firts he tests Jesus asking him what he has to do to inherit the crown in Heaven and then But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus,he asks who is my neighbour. His eyes are set on the crown in heaven and not down on the ground on those who lay at his feet in need of help, Like saying, love if it is not an abstract concept what do i have to do? he wants the crown as he values himself and wants to be worthy. He wants to be raised to Heaven. But first he needs to lower his eyes and bend his back to help up those in need here on earth. At the end moving from prideful willingness to test the Lord to humbling openness and willingness to understand, he graps the core teaching. The practical teaching of Jesus: do what concretises the mercy that you perceived in the samaritan's heart. Grow the same tree and bring forth its fruits.
