What time choices can you make that result in lasting benefit instead of short-term benefit?
That is an ironical question for me...as i need to learn to be a better Martha. Fretting around only focusing on external order is no good of course and one has to spend time in praying listening at Jesus feet. But tending to one's household duties is important too, without being paranoid. But not too slack either. As i tend to be..putting it off and choosing the better part. Time you get up and give a swap with Martha, i feel Jesus saying to me. Give her a break and let her sit at my feet for a change. But thast just me...:)

Why did Jesus ask his followers to pray for laborers instead of praying for a greater harvest?
Because a greater harvest with the same number of labourers means more of a burden on the few. More labourers bring more harvest too and are the most precious harvest as well: souls for Heaven. Of course good deeds that hopefully will bring more labourers and so more harvets etc etc.

Why did Jesus say, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God"?
A disciple is called to leave behind his own life and deepest concerns (not from the haert completely, but yet that is a burden to carry, devoting oneslf to others 'forgetting one's family). The loss of a dear one, his cross is to move on and announce that Life that Jesus has promised and will confirm with His ressurrection. The true dead ones are those who do not have his Spirit and his Word transfused into them. It's a paradoxical statement: who is truly dead the one wo has to bury a pshysically dead one and has no Spirit and Word running through him or the pshysically dead who has fallen asleep in the trustful hope in the Resurrection?
