What is "the Christ"? How is it different than one of the prophets? He is the Annointed one not the announced one. Annointed to be sacrificed on the altar for the sins of us all.He is the embodied fullfillment of the promises like He was when he was incarnated in man. In a way so it is a man religion as God made Himself into a man for our salvation. But that man was God and if the priest turns towards us men that does not mean that thas Sacrifice come from us. So it is a God religion and the liturgy still reminds us of that.
