Why did Jesus cry out, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?" Note: This is a direct quote from the Jewish Scripture, Psalm 22:1.
Any deep down faithful Jew would have had David's words, the raised to salvation repentant king, running through his heart. Bringing all in one cry of hopeful desperate anguish, Jesus was fully human, the core message of the Word made crucified flesh for our Redemption.Does Eloi mean Eliah? is it the original name? the thought goes to the Transfiguartion, the flames of Jesus redeeming act of love carrying us all in renewed Baptismal vests to Heaven with the Father. But only few very few of the disciples had been, Jesus will, present on the hill. Did they spread that experience despite his orders? like the word about his miracles forcing itself out astounded believeing hopeful hearts and mouths? Its not the disciples naming Eliah here. Some of the faithful population standing by till the end of his anguished death, till the last drop of Blood left his sinews and left him as white as that 'Jesus' on the crucifiz in that side chapel of Santa Maria del Fiore (on the left straight next to the Blessed Sacrament / Confessionals chapel).

Why is it signficant that Jesus fulfilled what was predicted hundreds of years before? Note: Mark refers to the old Scriptures from the Prophet Isaiah (chapter 53) "He poured out his soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And he bore the sins of many." Isaiah 53 contains many more matches to events in Jesus` life.
Anytime from now...anytime from then...the Word of God is eternal and the Covenant everlasting. It was a Promise given to the forefathers and a longawaited for Moment, the prophetsing of which had to pass from mouth to mouth herat to heart. Thus guaranteeing that the so broought Salvation would have lasted foreevermore from then onwards.

What was Jesus feeling and thinking while he was mocked and humiliated in front of others? Recall Jesus` own teachings (Matt 5:11), "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven."
God the Father and the LOVE for all those he was calling to reciprocate in this brotherhood.Nailing us with the Loving Hope that the suffering of our hearts would nail us in Faithful steadfastness to his pshysical torture. And the fully lived Word to the spilling of the last Drop of Blood that was giving us thus salvation opening the arms of the Father.
