Why does Jesus consider this woman`s desire to please Jesus more important than giving to the poor?
Povero Gesù...i don't think there is anything wrong in allowing himself a moment of personal ...its like a spa treatment in a way but also and especially as a reminder that the true treasure lies in Heaven and we can only access it via Jesus, who will not be phsyically there forever but the poors will and other precious goods can be sold to aid them. The woman takes very personal care about the body that will be sacrificed on the altar of our Redemption and to do that she had put her reputation at stake by walking to Jesus and taking care of him in a way, think of her past, could be seen as blasphemous and unholy and vulgarly disparaging whereas like the other annointment - the droplets of sweat in the Getshemani garden - is, to me anyway, one of the most powerful reminders of the humanity of our Jesus. his being a vessel made like us of flesh and blood and nerves and bones...Who will suffer so much for love of us.The woman does believe that he will die and then resurrect and annoints the vessel.Like in the preparation for the Holy Eucharist the cup, the plate the vessel holding the Body of Christ and any other necessary matter are carefully and lovinlgy polished. He cried when seeing the body of Lazarus thinking of his own physical death and burial. And mary too very likely weeped.Offering the sacrifice of her beloved friend. Like Mother Mary she could have tried to take him away from his and her Calvary. She understood the Message of Love the pain he was about to face and probably performed one of the most painful tasks. The Annointing of the Lamb.

What did Jesus imply by saying, "This is my blood of the new coveneant, which is poured out for many."? Consider that the Passover was a Jewish festival that remembered when a plague of death "passed over" the home of those Jewish people who marked their doors with blood from a lamb. Jews remembered this day with a feast of unleavened bread.
The Jews marked the doors of the houses with the blood of the sacrificed lamb. Those loving following Jesus and gratefully aknowledgiung his sacrifice on the cross were, are and will be called to mark the door to their hearts with His Blood. Spiritial aknowledgement. A new kind covenant of Blood Family Bonds. Taking the Word in like we drink of His Blood and eat of His Body.

Jesus defines a great person as one who serves others. What did Jesus mean when he said he "did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many."?
Its the crux of the matter. He totally offered himself in his humanity to non believers tortures and condamnation to death so that the promises of the OT woud be fullfilled. For all to see including those who condemened him. He did not run away when Judas kissed him and stopped the disciple from harming the soldier more seriously. He even healed the wounded enemy. Many who did not believe then must have then believed when they saw the lamb facing Calvary. As prmised. He offered himself freely.
