Jesus defines a great person as one who serves others. What did Jesus mean when he said he "did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many."?

The Son of the Almighty humbles himself to Calvary and death for love...the Son of the King of Kings. The greatest action is to lay down your life for a friend. So that they can live. Out of love. So we too are called in gratitude to obey walking in his footsteps carrying our crosses and helping others so that their joke can be lighter.Like the ox, pulling the burden of our sins he freed us so, lightened our burden, we can better Marthas helping around others (inclusive language although the thought goes first to Peter's mother in law..but all the disciples and anyone in wahtever walk of life). Also in bending you make the self smaller and better fitting the narrow Gate of Heaven.
