Why does the Father hide things from the wise and intelligent and reveal them to infants?

Maybe because they are more prepared to take the Truth fully and purely and dont risk twisting it and making it conform to a wordly understanding of the Word. Intelligence is a God given gift that has to be used with humility and always holding the Lamp of Truth. I think that by wise here it is meant knowlegeble well read. The Father entrusts the concrete message of Love to the simple ones who will `simply` take it and apply it in a concrete way. it`s a message for the heart of flesh first and then that has to guide the mind.

What changes should there have been in cities like Chorazin and Bethsaida as a result of the mighty works performed by Jesus?

Sodom did not know the full message so they persited in sin out of not complete ignorance. These cities were shown the bright Light of Truth that clearly illumined the way and decided in full consciousness not to walk that way. They committed mortal sin. That`s why the judgement will be more lenient on Sodom which sinned out of `partial ignorance` ''see invincible ignorance''.

When answering John`s question about whether He was the Christ, why did Jesus point out the results of his ministry rather than just saying yes or no?

He is calling onto the miracles that only God could have performed. So he is calling as testimony all those who saw the wondrous deeds and heard the words of hopes. Not everyone understood see all those among the Jews who condemnded him as they were still waiting to be released from the Roman Empire to which they then submit all the more by asking them to do what their God given Law did not allow them to do: killing the accused. However grave the sin they were accusing Jesus of, saying to be the Son of God, they most of all broke the Law of Love that Jesus had brought and that was to fullfill all that they should have treasured from the forefathers. All the deeds he points out too they are all acts of mercy. And John is included by Jesus among the prophets the last before the arrival of Jesus. The last prophet who announces and the first official testimony as Mary was the first one and later on Zacaraiah and Simon who prophetised to her the sword ''Mary though very likely knew about Isaiah words''. Like with John in Elisabeth`s womb that was a private recognition, the yet to be born John leapinmg in the womb feeling the Real Presence in the Ark. Here we have the official one. In which also Jesus aknoledged John as a true disciple dressed poorly and lived in poverty to walk on and announce - he alone as that it was before the disciples went two by two - proclaiming all that then was seen by many.
