984 entries for this category: Judas was one of the 12 men closest to Jesus. Why would Judas betray Jesus? Satan enters Judas. So he let Satan in and guided his actions. Judas had free will so he let him guide him to betray somebody he was so close to. But Jesus says your will be done so it seems everything was part of the plan. Am confused. Can anyone answer the question?

If Jesus knew he was being betrayed behold, the hand of him who betrays me, why not tell who was the betrayer? He calls them to an examination of conscience putting to test their faithfulness. A deep self analysis and sense of resposnibility towards each other. And trust in each other too. It binds them together all the more.Also God`s will had to be accomplished so he did not want them to stop the betrayer.
His leadership shows great humility and total lack of pride. We are here to help each other and collaborate sacrificing ourselves in the name of the Sacrifice he`s about to face for us all. He doesn`t want to cause enmity between the disciples. They have to be one body. And even Judas could have been reintegrated had he not cut himself off by not trusting enough God`s mercy. But maybe his state of panic - was he sent to Purgatory? his was an act of desperation.

Would you arrest someone that who you just saw heal a man`s ear- when the ear was cut off and healed right before your eyes? I wouldn`t but I wouln`t be a soldier either. Although Jesus was mistakenly seen as a threat on the political level- establishing a new kingdom - but it`s also true that they were ven more scared by his power and that made them ven more determined to stop him. How many saints have been `handcuffed` before being recognised?
