Why do you think Peter denied knowing Jesus?

It was a time of high emotions and unsettlement. The Son of God arrested?!did not save himself?! When Jesus asked who am i and Peter replied the Annointed one, he was probably thinking only of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit promised by John. He failed, like the others, to see that the annointing given him by Mary Magdalene, was the annointing of the sacrificial victim. Jesus knew he would have betrayed him. Peter is a man of deep and turbulent emotions, but he is the only one who dared walking on waters following Jesus. Looking trustworthy in his eyes. He may have been scared by the simple girl faithfulness and afraid of his own panic. Yet Jesus trusts him like he forgave Judas. Will you look after my sheep - he asks him again 3 times. 77 times 7 that is how often we are called to give forgiveness. And the rejectin Peter was chosen as the first stone of the new soon to be founded Church when the Holy Spirit descends again to impregnate the hurdle of frightened disciples waiting for Pentecost.

Why did they take Jesus in private at night?

I notice now that Judas does not kiss Jesus but only thinks about doing it. He is about to do that followed by that same multitude that in daylight, and daily, had not dared stretching their hands against Jesus. Afraid of those very same soldiers who were afraid of them and did not dare arrest Jesus in the daylight and in the temple, but wait for the darkness of the night. At which point they recieve the approbation of the elders and the priests led by Judas, who effectively had been betraying Jesus threading a plot by using words to unify them against him.Human beings afraid of the raection of other human beings. And not of God the Father: broad daylight or pitch darkness no matter whatsoever to Jesus who is the Son of God and reads the kiss in Judas mind. The betrayal was already occurring. Jesus heals the soldier phsyical wound and also prevents another deeper wound of the soul to strike Jesus: a physical personal direct gesture of false friendship that would have nailed in Judas heart so deep. The peak, or bottom of the pitch, of a betraying soul.All this shows to the testimonies, who then reflected back on those highly emotional moments, as the greatest sign of mercy.in a way the soldier was less guilty than Judas as he, not a disciple,was to obey his non disciples of Jesus superiors. Jesus dispenses equal mercy on all.

Jesus said: "Pray that you don`t enter into temptation." What is temptation?

temptation is the trap of the devil.Jesus was notifying us that ,temptations is likely to come in our way ,but we should pray that we will never fall into it.so i think temptation is the trap of the devil that we should not sin against God.
