The lowly are not the proud sinners. Yes ok, Jesus pursues such people, He pursues every precious human being. Jesus, the Son of God came among us 2,000 years ago, humbly reaching out with qualities of a lowly one. His incarnation was to be a servant, more than to be the God He is. Surely, those who want to be on top at all costs, don't want to know of being servants, neither of God nor of anybody else. But Jesus is the model in showing us that being lowly is one of the greatest attributes that embodies love. Many may reject this as being impractical in their lives. It's a decision, a state of mind not only a state of being. Jesus values THIS KIND of being lowly. Compassion in a dictionary would say it's a feeling of pity. But Jesus' acts of compassion shows us that there's more to that. So, compassion that's in tune with Jesus, would be loving God as much one claims to love Him. It becomes an urge to act upon this love for Him. One cannot claim to love God and reject the nearby manifestation of that love to his brothers; can? We're not to bring perfection trough helping others, but we will definetly bring love (light). So, compassion must somewhere glorify Jesus, and hey, we are glorified with Him!
Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?
