Define Compassion?

Compassion is a sense of suffering which we feel when we are in the presence of others who suffer. Compassion is what pushes us to lessen those sufferings.

King Herod held power to kill as desired, yet he himself feared many things. What did he fear? Do have have any of his fears?

Herod knew that John could see through all the bad things that he did. John was a pure and holy man, he could recognize a suffering soul when he saw one and he had the words to ease this suffering. Maybe Herod was afraid to kill him because deep down inside he wanted to be judged by God and not the world.

How did Jesus equip his disciples for powerful work by taking away their material possessions?

In taking away the material possessions of his disciples, Jesus equiped them with an unending faith in the power of God. For when we need possessions we become slaves but when we need nothing God can use us to do his work.
