What lesson do you think Jesus was teaching His disciples when He fed the multitude with five loaves and two fish? I think Jesus wanted the people to trust him and not worry and recognise that He uses ordinary folk to perform miracles at a point of need.

Why did God allow John to be beheaded by Herod? John himself did not know his position. The bible talked about him as Elijah who was to come before the Christ, meaning that he would have walked in the same power as Elijah did. God's mission had to be fulfilled no matter what, and in this John was no exception. He had to get out of Jesus' way, because people had more respect for John than the Christ, yet he was not the savior.
