What did Jesus imply by saying, "This is my blood of the new coveneant, which is poured out for many."? Consider that the Passover was a Jewish festival that remembered when a plague of death "passed over" the home of those Jewish people who marked their doors with blood from a lamb. Jews remembered this day with a feast of unleavened bread. This time around it wasn't the children of Israel slaughtering a lamb, it was God sending a lamb in a picture of His Son to them. Remember collegues, Jesus was about to be slaughtered and His blood shed for everyone. His blood was going to mark a new beginning in the relationship between man and God. The blood that was smeered on the doors of Egypt was just a sign of the passover, but it was not blood that washes away sins, the blood of Jesus washes every bit of sin, ther ehad never been anything like this before that one man's blood is enough to cover who ever wishes to associate with it.

Why does Jesus consider this woman`s desire to please Jesus more important than giving to the poor? Jesus was present and was about to leave, these poor people were to stay around just as He said. I think He needed to have His share. It means that one has to give God's share, no matter how many poor people are present. Jesus knows that when you give Him, you can still remain with something to give the poor.
