Love How do you define what it is to be a Christian? One only has to look at the vast variety of organised faith systems which come under the vast umbrella of Christianity to realise that the term Christian doesn`t have a specific definition in terms of religion.
Two things strike me about Jesus the man - he had a complete lack of fear of anything in this world and he had an unconditional and unbounding love for his fellow man and all of creation. Those two attributes tell me that Jesus was, and is, God with us.
To me the definition of what it is to be a Christian is to do your best to follow meekly in the footsteps of the greatest man who ever lived. Compare your thoughts, words and deeds to those of Jesus. He made it simple so we could all understand.
Do we need to be born again? There are religions that tell you that you do. And Jesus told us that he was the only way to the Father. Maybe being born again simply means that you`ve stopped living in fear and started living in love. After all, outside of these two things, nothing else exists.
I have many questions of religion. I don`t think there are definitive answers when it comes to theological studies. But what I do know without question is that Jesus IS the way, the truth and the light. And if we could all take a step back from our lives and start to love as he did the world would be the wonderful place that God intended it to be.
