Why do you think the priests, scribes, elders did not answer Jesus?

The scribes and elders were afraid to tell the truth, because they had not believed John the baptist when he taught about God`s kingdom. The scribes and prophets also did not want to acknowledge that some of the actions were prescribed/ ordered by them and not God through prophets.

Why was Zaccheaus so joyful when Jesus asked to stay at his house?

Zaccheaus was a sinner. So is how he thought of himself, and that's how society judged him. When Jesus decided to dine and wine at his house, Zaccheaus was overwhelmed both by the fact that a Son of God who is so pure and righteaous, does not judge him like the rest of the world, and because also Jesus chose him. Remember ther ewere many homes of teachers of the law, and Pharisees who thought that they were closer to God and Jesus would have chose to stop there instead.

What characteristics of a rich person make it harder to receive the Kingdom of God?

Worshipping one's richness can make one's way to the Kingdom of Heaven tougher because when wealth becomes an idol, God will reject u. Pride from being rich will also push God away from someone because He advises us to pride ourselves in Him, if we are to be proud pointing that nothing worldly should make us to be because everything perishes apart from Him.
