What was Mary feeling right before Jesus´ birth? Note: She is described here as an unwed pregnant woman, who was forced to travel away from her family, only to deliver her baby in a barn?

Mary was feeling special I guess. She was carrying a fatherless baby. She knew right that Joseph was not the Dad, but he still cared for her. Although she might have gone through a strange experience because of being a young virgin mother, she was favoured to Joseph, and he extremely cared for her. Mary had accepted and availed herself to be used by God, I do not think that she felt it a burden to be the one picked by the Most High, among all women.

What do people think about John the Baptist even before he is born? Note: Sometimes a big introduction is given for a person who then introduces someone even more important. Luke is announcing the announcer of Jesus.

John the Baptist was a miraculous child born to an old God fearing couple. This child came with an already identified mission which He did very well, to announce the coming of the Messiah, to prepare His way, to make the people ready to hear the goodnews of the Kingdom of God, to soften thier hearts. However, some people had a feeling the John was the one to come, that's why He made it clear in his messages, that one above him was just following behind. They thought John had come from Heaven, a great prophet.

Luke starts Jesus` story with the prediction of the birth of John the Baptist. According to Luke, what did the angel Gabriel predict as the future role of John the Baptist?

The role assigned to John the Baptist was to prepare the way for Jesus. To make the people in whom Jesus was coming to preach the Goodnews of the Kingdom of God ready to recieve Him. To soften their hearts to the word of God, because John came in a time were Israel was being led astray by the chief priests and the Pharisees who almost worshiped the lwas of the old testament, than God.
