1025 entries for this category: It far easier to hate one's enemy and some of us even forget the reasons for the hatred but we continue to hate anyway. Jesus seperated the old Jewish faith from the His new testament by teaching love of one's enemy which is a key difference between the faiths. It is hard to be kind to an enemy but it can have a profound effect on one's enemy and one's self. Some of the reasons for the hatred can lose their meaning and new friendships are struck Jesus is telling us to act and not to react. In other words we must control our emotions and not be controlled by them. When we control our emotions we show strength over the people who wish to harm us. Both Tibet and India have produced leaders who have adopted this approach to control harmful forces against them. The message of Jesus to stop violence is not to fight. If we need to use oaths to support our word to our friends, our word is useless.If we lie using an oath, we offend God and do the work of the devil. In legal situations with unknown witness, oaths on the bible are used so a judge can deal with the truth. If people lie here, they can go to jail and have their reputations destroyed. What makes it so difficult to love our enemies? Bonus Question: What happens when we love our enemies?
