forgiveness is a word but actions speak louder

how do we forgive one that destroyed our family, that is a big ask from god yes?but he gave his only son to die for us not through his own sins as he did not sin but sins of mankind

would you take blame in court for another knowing you would be imprisoned?

would you give your only child to suffer?

would you ever forgive a person that wronged you.

answer can be found when jesus said unto the people that were going to stone to death a woman that committed adultry when he said let those that have not sinned cast the first stone and guess what not a stone was casted.

we are not and never will be perfect and god knows that but what he says is seek forgiveness and sin no more and yes we can do that cant we?

the devil plays all tricks on us but god has power over him if we believe and ask him to so really there are no excuses

What might Jesus recommend to two people having a legal dispute?

Jesus gives a practical way of finding resolutions in dealing with problems with others rather than using the court systems.

Unfortunately I have been in courts for many years fighting in matters in which I was innocent.

It was only when I appreciated the alternative thinking from opposing counsel that I was able to reexplain my situation and resolve several matters.

I wish, I had understood the message of Jesus before.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)

He was preparing His disciples for when He would leave. I dont think it was a build up as such, more a preparation for those-His followers- that would soon be without Him in body.
