1025 entries for this category: Herod feared a loss of respect of his oath. It was important that Herod opponents respected his oath otherwise nobody would respect a threat by or a deal with Herod. Yes, often I have felt that I have made committments either time wise or finnancially which were wrong. I do not mind admitting to an error and I try to change the incorrect committments but I am not a powerful man. Jesus did not want His disciples to be depending on support or comfort from their possessions as these things would not help them in the work He wanted them to carry out. Jesus wanted the disciples to rely only on Him to achieve the work He wanted them to do. In other words, we need to totally rely on God that we are prepared to carry out extordinary work that He wants us to do. King Herod held power to kill as desired, yet he himself feared many things. What did he fear? Do you have any of his fears?
