1325 entries for this category: Jesus did not want His disciples to be depending on support or comfort from their possessions as these things would not help them in the work He wanted them to carry out. Jesus wanted the disciples to rely only on Him to achieve the work He wanted them to do. In other words, we need to totally rely on God that we are prepared to carry out extordinary work that He wants us to do. The people of the region who saw their pigs destroyed would have been concerned about the motivations of Jesus and asked him to leave. To counteract this negative feelings to Him, Jesus asked the man cleaned from the demons to talk and show himself to the locals and show them the good deed He had done. The other side to this situation is that Jesus will help the most wreached individuals, even satin's spirits, if they ask for His help. How did Jesus "equip" his disciples for powerful work by taking away their material possessions?
