路加所著的耶稣传记——第18章 耶稣设一个比喻,是要人常常祷告,不可灰心。 (18:1) 说,某城里有一个官,不惧怕神,也不尊重世人。 (18:2) 那城里有个寡妇,常到他那里,说,我有一个对头,求你给我伸冤。 (18:3) 他多日不准。后来心里说,我虽不惧怕神,也不尊重世人。 (18:4) 只因这寡妇烦扰我,我就给她伸冤吧。免得她常来缠磨我。 (18:5) 主说,你们听这不义之官所说的话。 (18:6) 神的选民,昼夜呼吁他,他纵然为他们忍了多时,岂不终久给他们伸冤吗? (18:7) 我告诉你们,要快快地给他们伸冤了,然而人子来的时候,遇得见世上有信德吗? (18:8) 耶稣向那些仗着自己是义人,藐视别人的,设一个比喻, (18:9) 说,有两个人上殿里去祷告。一个是法利赛人,一个是税吏。 (18:10) 法利赛人站着,自言自语的祷告说,神阿,我感谢你,我不像别人,勒索,不义,奸淫,也不像这个税吏。 (18:11) 我一个礼拜禁食两次,凡我所得的,都捐上十分之一。 (18:12) 那税吏远远地站着,连举目望天也不敢,只捶着胸说,神阿,开恩可怜我这个罪人。 (18:13) 我告诉你们,这人回家去,比那人倒算为义了,因为凡自高的,必降为卑,自卑的,必升为高。 (18:14) 有人抱着自己的婴孩,来见耶稣,要他摸他们,门徒看见就责备那些人。 (18:15) 耶稣却叫他们来,说,让小孩子到我这里来,不要禁止他们,因为在神国的,正是这样的人 (18:16) 我实在告诉你们,凡要承受神国的,若不像小孩子,断不能进去。 (18:17) 有一个官问耶稣说,良善的夫子,我该作什么事,才可以承受永生。 (18:18) 耶稣对他说,你为什么称我是良善的,除了神一位之外,再没有良善的。 (18:19) 诫命你是晓得的,不可奸淫,不可杀人,不可偷盗,不可作假见证,当孝敬父母。 (18:20) 那人说,这一切我从小都遵守了。 (18:21) 耶稣听见了,就说,你还缺少一件,要变卖你一切所有的,分给穷人,就必有财宝在天上。你还要来跟从我。 (18:22) 他听见这话,就甚忧愁,因为他很富足。 (18:23) 耶稣看见他就说,有钱财的人进神的国,是何等的难哪。 (18:24) 骆驼穿过针的眼,比财主进神的国,还容易呢。 (18:25) 听见的人说,这样,谁能得救呢? Luke 18
The Parable of the Persistent Widow He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up, saying, "There was a judge in a certain city who didn't fear God, and didn't respect man. A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, 'Defend me from my adversary!' He wouldn't for a while, but afterward he said to himself, 'Though I neither fear God, nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.'" The Lord said, "Listen to what the unrighteous judge says. Won't God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector He spoke also this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others. "Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: 'God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.' But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn't even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted." The Little Children and Jesus They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. Jesus summoned them, saying, "Allow the little children to come to me, and don't hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it." The Rich Ruler A certain ruler asked him, saying, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus asked him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one--God. You know the commandments: 'Don't commit adultery,' 'Don't murder,' 'Don't steal,' 'Don't give false testimony,' 'Honor your father and your mother.'" He said, "I have observed all these things from my youth up." When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me." But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich. Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God." Those who heard it said, "Then who can be saved?" But he said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." Peter said, "Look, we have left everything, and followed you." He said to them, "Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom of God's sake, who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life." Jesus Again Predicts His Death He took the twelve aside, and said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed. For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on. They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again." They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn't understand the things that were said. A Blind Beggar Receives His Sight It happened, as he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging. Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant. They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. He cried out, "Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!" Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "You son of David, have mercy on me!" Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him, "What do you want me to do?" He said, "Lord, that I may see again." Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
