路加所著的耶稣传记——彼得认耶稣为基督 耶稣自己祷告的时候，门徒也同他在那里。耶稣问他们说，众人说我是谁。 (9:18) 他们说，有人说是施洗的约翰。有人说是以利亚。还有人说，是古时的一个先知又活了。 (9:19) 耶稣说，你们说我是谁。彼得回答说，是神所立的基督。 (9:20) 耶稣切切地嘱咐他们，不可将这事告诉人。 (9:21) 又说，人子必须受许多的苦，被长老祭司长和文士弃绝，并且被杀，第三日复活。 (9:22) 耶稣又对众人说，若有人要跟从我，就当舍己，天天背起他的十字架来，跟从我。 (9:23) 因为凡要救自己生命的，生命或作灵魂下同必丧掉生命。凡为我丧掉生命的，必救了生命。 (9:24) 人若赚得全世界，却丧了自己，赔上自己，有什么益处呢？ (9:25) 凡把我和我的道当作可耻的，人子在自己的荣耀里，并天父与圣天使的荣耀里，降临的时候，也要把那人当作可耻的。 (9:26) 我实在告诉你们，站在这里的，有人在没尝死味以前，必看见神的国。 (9:27) 路加 9:18-27

Peter's Confession of Christ
It happened, as he was praying alone, that the disciples were with him, and he asked them, "Who do the multitudes say that I am?" They answered, "'John the Baptizer,' but others say, 'Elijah,' and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "The Christ of God." But he warned them, and commanded them to tell this to no one, saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up." He said to all, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self? For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels. But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here, who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Kingdom of God." Luke 9:18-27
