马太所著的耶稣传记——安息日的主 那时，耶稣在安息日，从麦地经过。他的门徒饿了，就掐起麦穗来吃。 (12:1) 法利赛人看见，就对耶稣说，看哪，你的门徒作安息日不可作的事了。 (12:2) 耶稣对他们说，经上记着大卫和跟从他的人饥饿之时所作的事，你们没有念过吗？ (12:3) 他怎么进了神的殿，吃了陈设饼，这饼不是他和跟从他的人可以吃得，惟独祭司才可以吃。 (12:4) 再者，律法上所记的，当安息日，祭司在殿里犯了安息日，还是没有罪，你们没有念过吗？ (12:5) 但我告诉你们，在这里有一人比殿更大。 (12:6) 我喜爱怜恤，不喜爱祭祀。你们若明白这话的意思，就不将无罪的，当作有罪的了。 (12:7) 因为人子是安息日的主。 (12:8) 耶稣离开那地方，进了一个会堂。 (12:9) 那里有一个人，枯干了一只手。有人问耶稣说，安息日治病，可以不可以。意思是要控告他。 (12:10) 耶稣说，你们中间谁有一只羊，当安息日掉在坑里，不把他抓住拉上来呢？ (12:11) 人比羊何等贵重呢。所以在安息日作善事是可以的。 (12:12) 于是对那人说，伸出手来。他把手一伸，手就复了原，和那只手一样。 (12:13) 法利赛人出去，商议怎样可以除灭耶稣。 (12:14) 马太 12:1-14

Lord of the Sabbath
At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, "Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath." But he said to them, "Haven't you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him; how he entered into the house of God, and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests? Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbath day, the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are guiltless? But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here. But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." He departed there, and went into their synagogue. And behold there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?" that they might accuse him. He said to them, "What man is there among you, who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won't he grab on to it, and lift it out? Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day." Then he told the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other. But the Pharisees went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him. Matthew 12:1-14
