马太所著的耶稣传记——论起誓 你们又听见有吩咐古人的话，说，不可背誓，所起的誓，总要向主谨守。 (5:33) 只是我告诉你们，什么誓都不可起，不可指着天起誓，因为天是神的座位。 (5:34) 不可指着地起誓，因为地是他的脚凳。也不可指着耶路撒冷起誓，因为耶路撒冷是大君的京城。 (5:35) 又不可指着你的头起誓，因为你不能使一根头发变黑变白了。 (5:36) 你们的话，是，就说是，不是，就说不是。若再多说，就是出于那恶者。（或作是从恶里出来的） (5:37) 马太 5:33-37

"Again you have heard that it was said to them of old time, 'You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,' but I tell you, don't swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God; nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Neither shall you swear by your head, for you can't make one hair white or black. But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No.' Whatever is more than these is of the evil one. Matthew 5:33-37
