How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love.
Sin is a burden or a debt for which the penalty is death. We would only pay for our sins by our own blood, ie, death which would end our life eternally. It is great however to note that a person of Jesus was already provided for us by God, in His death on the cross, that if we believed in Him, and confessed our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us, and to declare us as sinless, guiltless, pardoned, having no more debts to pay, or burden to carry. Literally saving us from death, and restoring in us life eternally, and hope. That self willed action by Jesus to us, moved by His own compassion, was the greatest love from God. We are therefore motivated to love Him more, if not, with all our heart, soul, and strength. The Mission of Jesus was made clear, to seek and to save the lost. He came for the sick, not the well. Repentence and forgiveness are to be preached in His Name. Those who asked, freely received. If we had not sinned, we would not have needed forgiveness, and our love for God would have been vain, but as it is, We all are sinners. Thanks to the blood of HJesus that redeemed as, and made us forgiven.

When I face and realize such a tremendous love for the sinner, such a wonderful love for the lost sheep. Being myself a simple man, very fragile, imperfect, sinner, and having tasted the bitter and sour properties of my mistakes. Recognizing that if my mistakes and sins were publicly known, surely most people would judge me very severely and surely they would demand a punishment. But in confession and in reading about Jesus I face this unlimited and always forgiving love. It makes me astonished. I know it is not human. This love must be divine love, and being forgiven and loved I feel another person, think that I must be of value to him, and as he show me love. I, in return, want to show him my love by means of fulfilling his comandments although they are difficult, I pray Jesus gives me enough strenght and grace to overcome my hardened heart and become a new man, merciful, humble, forgiving, and loving just like the faithful servant. Thank you my Lord and help me to walk in your footsteps.

Forgiveness according to the lessons increases one love for God after realising there is someone who really cares for Him/Her. That reminds of a saying no one cares what you know , until they know you care if one as well borrow a leaf from that then its goes show in a big way what forgiveness means to a soul.
