Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Love one another is a new commandment because it starts from there, once you love one another the rest is easy. I mean if love me you cant do me evil and thats the principal that Jesus was teaching.

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Becoz in the old testament love was taken in a different way not the way as Jesus express it in the new testament. I t was love your God only but Jesus add to it and it become love your God, love your neighbour as you love yourself.

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Love one another is a new commandment, becuase Jesus summarized all the laws into just two commandments. In the laws and the prophet, love was not really preached, but repaying evil for evil and good for good. But noiw Jesus is preaching something completely new: Regardless of what the other person does, we are to love them, as ourselves. We are to love one another as Christ Himself loved us , to death on the cross. In the prsent day world, it is simple to realize that if we were to love one another as Christ asked, most of the problems will not exist-violence, wars and all will cease, and the world would be a better place.

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Did He not loved Us even when we were wrong before Him? Yes! He did loved us and said a simple prayer of forgivessness on the cross for us before he left. He gave us an example to follow of how to love one another as He loved us. God gave us His Son as a Love token of His Love for Us that we are all Forgiven and How much we are loved in the eyes and heart of the Lord. Should we not ought to love in return? Jesus said Love one another as I have Loved You. It was not us who loved Him first, it was Him who loved Us first. He gave up His life for You! What does that tell you! To me, His actions spoke louder than words could be expressed. He was beaten for my transgressions and was wounded for my iniquities and sins. In return He gave up His life for me because he was telling me that no matter what I Love You, you are my Beloved!

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Jesus calls `LOVE ONE ANOTHER a new commandment because it epitomizes Christ`s message to us. He came to preach the message of love-first love of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. and just before His crucifiction, He gave us the message of love for one another which is new because before the message was that of loving only those who love you. But Christ broadened that to include love of your fellow man for He, by laying His life down for us, was showing us that it is possible to love your fellow man without expecting anything in return-hence the new commandment.

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Before our Lord Jesus, nobody in this world used to love like him. We love what we need, what is appealing, what helps us. I mean that we love with conditions. That is the old reality and I am sure nobody can deny it. But the new reality came with Jesus. He truly loved us unconditionally, each one of us. He did not just talk about it. He did love us with facts, He even died on the cross for us, making no exclusions, every body is wellcome. He knows we are sinners and even so He loves us. On my personal life I can not love as our dear and merciful Lord. I can not love my enemy and do him''her'' good without expecting reward. That is totally new to me. I am weak and sinner, but I pray our Lord to help me so that one day ''perhaps today'' I can love anyone who opposes me, who laughs at me, who insults me, who betrays me, who mistrusts me. Help me Jesus to overcome my sinful and weak flesh so that my soul become each day more and more like Yours.

'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "And a second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." ( Matthew 22:37-40)

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." ( John 13:34-35)

"Whatever you want others to do for you, do so for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." ( Matthew 7:12)

"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward in heaven will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men." ( Luke 6:35)

"Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many." ( Mark 10:43-45)

"If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you." ( John 13:14-15)
