Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Perhaps because it is somewhat a summary of all the commandments. Because if we love God, we will love one another, and if that is so then we will not commit sin against God or against other people.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST IS LOVE
Love one another because Jesus Christ is love. People can tell the true christians from the false christians because they love one another. I must love Jesus Christ to be a christian. Love God with your heart ''raphael to heal'', mind ''uriel light and thought'' and soul ''michael, prince of peace and prayer'' and strength ''gabriel art and communication''. Love gives freedom. Hate gives violence and oppression. Praise God, jesus and the holy spirit and obey the law. These two things give you a life of freedom.

Love One Another
If we loved our neighbor as ourselves their would be peace and harmony in the world today. Instead of the old thinking of a eye for a eye, tooth for a tooth!

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Well, after Jesus came into this world, everything turned on to new, that simple is the answer. New testament, New world, New creation, New covenant...so why not new commandment? When Jesus comes into us, the old goes away and see everything becomes new. We can read this in 2 Corinthians 5: 17. Jesus came to save us from our sins and gave us only two simple commandments, whereas in the Old Testament we find ten. As we all know, the 2 commandments Jesus gave mankind are `You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.` This is the great and foremost commandment. And a second is like it, `You shall love your neighbor as yourself.` On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets. - Matt 22:37. When we read these two commndments and then move on to the old commandments, we see that the first 3 commandments which God gave to mankind, come into the 1st commandment which Jesus gave to mankind. And the next 7 commandments, which God gave to the mankind, come into the 2nd commandment which Jesus gave to the mankind. Jesus condensed the 10 commandments into 2 commandments. Hence a new commandment arose of loving one another. Loving one another includes respecting and loving our parents...; not killing others through our words or actions, not aborting children; not committing adultery...; not stealing others peace, happiness, fame, joy, money, ..etc; not going to the court against others, not hating them, not cursing them, not hurting them...; not coveting neighbour`s wife or any other relation.....; not coveting neighbour`s goods... So let`s understand this new commandment, Jesus has given us and follow it in our lives. Love our brothers and sisters and forgive them.

Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
GOD loved the world so much that he gave his son to die for us. If we can learn to love that much we would overcome alot of our problems its sometimes difficult to even love ourselfs becuase of faults that we have and how more to love your neighbor. Thats why I think that he gave us this new commandment

'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "And a second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." ( Matthew 22:37-40)

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." ( John 13:34-35)

"Whatever you want others to do for you, do so for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." ( Matthew 7:12)

"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward in heaven will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men." ( Luke 6:35)

"Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many." ( Mark 10:43-45)

"If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you." ( John 13:14-15)
