Experiencing Jesus through alleviating pain
Move toward some of the pain in our world and participate with Jesus in bringing healing.... Jesus said to the people that served in his name, "When I was hungry you fed me, when I was thirsty you gave me something to drink, when I was a stranger you invited me in." And all the people said, "Lord, when did we do these things?" And Jesus said, "If you did it to the least of these, you`ve done it to me." One of the things I think that passage means is that when we move toward someone else`s pain, whether it`s poverty or loneliness, or emptiness in life, if we move toward other people`s pain and come in Jesus` name to help, we experience Jesus. Jesus is there, and we experience him. This makes sense because when Jesus was here on earth where did he go? He had this habit of going to places where there was pain: the sick, the lame, the poor. He went to those places of pain because he knew he could bring healing there. So if Jesus has this habit of showing up in the places of pain ''that`s where he likes to go'' and if we want to see Jesus and experience him, then where would we go to see him? Well, to the places of pain, where he has always promised to be, and where he`s promised to bring healing and wholeness.

"Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters of mother or father or children or fields, for my sake and for the sake of the good news, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this age - houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and fields with persecutions - and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first." ( Mark 10:29-31)

"Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets." ( Luke 6:22)

"But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked." ( Luke 6:35)
