Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?
When I ponder this I feel that Jesus is unlike me. I tend to look at the poor and lowly as having caused their own plight to some extent but he does not seem to use any such measure. As I try to apply this to my life I take more pains to listen to everyone, value what they say and learn from them.

Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
I dont think so, it is more likely he was passionate and was showing it.

I believe since we are created in His image, therefore we have value. Since God so loved the world and we are in it, therefore we have value. No matter how much money, status or power we have.

Matthew 9:27-34 Why is faith so important when we ask Jesus to do something for us?
There is an interesting scripture in Hebrews where it says something like. Those that want to receive something from god must first believe that he exists and that god is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. I think that is why it is important.
