Absolutely not. Jesus was not a trickster, and He didn't do magic. There is nothing in the Bible to suggest Jesus was a trickster doing magic. The New Testament Bible shows that Jesus performed miracles which people could not explain. Therefore some people may think he was doing tricks. But Jesus stated His miracles were done by the power of His heavenly Father, God. Furthermore, Jesus was (and is) truth and light. He cannot lie and does not deceive or trick people. | Did Jesus express weakness? |
According to the New Testament Bible, Jesus expressed physical weakness in His human form many times. He was weak from fasting 40 days and 40 nights. Read here in Matthew’s Gospel about Jesus’ weakness. Jesus was also very weak after being whipped 39 times, not eating and being provoked for hours. He was too weak to carry His own cross and another man had to do it for Him. However, He was not weak per se. He was strong spiritually and He would also have been somewhat robust or strong as a carpenter. By: Editors Category: My Blog (2) Comments |

| Did Jesus teach that children should remain silent? |
We see nothing in the New Testament Bible to suggest Jesus taught that children should remain silent. The character of love and compassion that Jesus displayed would suggest that He understood they needed to laugh, play, sing and would never have taught they should be confined to silence. This is what we know about Jesus with regards to children: Jesus loved children. At one time some children wanted to come to Him and the disciples (Jesus’s close followers) rebuked them and turned them away. Jesus said this of children in the New Testament Gospel of Mark: “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” (Mark 10:14, NKJV). In the New Testament Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said this of children: “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kindom of heaven. And whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives me” (Matthew 18: 3, 4, 5, NKJV). When Jesus healed Jairus’s daughter, and brought her back to life when she was dead, He immediately asked for food for her. He loves children and cares for them deeply. According to the New Testament Bible, Jesus expressed spiritual strength. He also expressed physical strength at times. | Did Jesus express fear? |
This question is a difficult one to evaluate because the New Testament does not specifically say that Jesus expressed fear. According to New Testament Bible, some people may think that Jesus expressed fear about the way He would be die. Some may interpret His sorrow in the Garden of Gethsemane before being captured then crucified as fear. Some may think that when He prayed this prayer, it was a sign of fear, “If it be at all possible, Father take this cup from Me.” However, Jesus also prayed, “But not my will, but Yours be done.” Such surrender of the will depicts total trust in the Father. In some ways, trust and fear would seem to be incompatible. However, in His human form, in His human weakness, Jesus no doubt feared the pain of the crucifixion. He knew that this was one of the most painful ways a person could die. He would have apprehended it as a human being. Yet, as God’s Son who could have saved Himself, He still chose to go through with it. By: Editors Category: My Blog (4) Comments |
