Why did Jesus take just Peter, James and John with Him to witness his transfiguration?
Jesus took james, peter and paul to witness his transfiguration because, when jesus was 30 year old set for his missonary journey on earth, james, peter and paul were the first three disciples he called and to hime, they are the head of other disciplesand peter being the greates among them. How can one increase his faith to be the size of a mustard seed? (see also Luke 17:5-19)
For one to increase his faith to be like the size of mustard seeds, you need to belive in God, cast all your hope andthrust in him and belive in what God can use you to do in any situation in life. For he has given us power and authority over evry thing on earth. We need to remove every spirit of fear in our mind and we need to build our faith to be very strong in the lord and know that he is our father, maker of heaven and earth, who never fails to solve any problem or situations in life, only then you can achiev that.

Jesus took the disciples Peter, James and John to witness His transfiguration to prepare them spiritually for the days and events to come. Jesus touched the disciples with His calm comforting hand so that they would know that He is there for them as when they were afraid.

Why did Jesus take just Peter, James and John with Him to witness his transfiguration?
Jesus said, Don`t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead. Jesus has trust in the three that they would not pass message to the crowd before its time had come. Jesus knew within his apostles there were people like Judas Iscariot who may make such great sign known before the time Jesus wanted it to be known.

Why did Jesus take just Peter, James and John with Him to witness his transfiguration?
Jesus took only the three with him to witness his transfiguring because he trusted them and also wanted them to know and understand why people don`t recognize the prophets that came and gone. He also wanted to demonstrate to the three he love that as they will be taking over the ministry ship they need to see the work of God and how they have to move from earthly thinking to spiritual thinking and reasoning.

The Transfiguration

After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves. He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light. Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.
Peter answered, and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let's make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him."
When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid. Jesus came and touched them and said, "Get up, and don't be afraid." Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone. As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Don't tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead."
His disciples asked him, saying, "Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"
Jesus answered them, "Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things, but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn't recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them." Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.
