Jesus talked about money all the time. Jesus, the One whom we follow,
says:
It is harder for a rich person to be saved than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle. ''Matthew 19:24''
There's something about money. I know that tug, and I know that you know it too. There's just something about it that wants to be
God. Jesus said that it takes a miracle of God to be free of its pull.
The One we follow said:
Don't store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth corrupts and thieves break in and steal, ''You and I know, in
our part of the world and in our kind of life what kind of spiritual warfare this issue gets into , what bondage this gets us
into.'' but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven for where your treasure is, that's where your heart will be. ''Matthew
6: 19-21''
The real question is: Where do you want your heart to be?
Sometimes our money become a god and adultery for us, we rather to keep our money than the Lord, as God said to Moses in Deuteronomy : My people when they are blessed they will forget me. SO God knows human heart, we will fall down cause by our money, so we need extra teaching from ord how to maintain our money and not serve our money.

Why rich people seldom have second thoughts giving their possessions to the poor? Ar they frightened that they might lose everything they have? Or just wanted to keep all their necessities for themselves?

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
Jesus told the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow
Him because he was teaching him how to inherit eternal life. He told to the man the ten commandments. He also included selling all the man`s possessions and giving it to the poor will also make him to have eternal glory in the kingdom of God. By: Sab Category: The Rich Young Man

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
As a test of his faith in Jesus. By not selling all his possessions, the rich man demonstrated that, although he was basically good, he could not part with his earthly riches to follow Jesus. As his riches on earth were more important, his riches in heaven would therefore be very small. By: Marcia Category: The Rich Young Man

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
Jesus was testing the faith of the rich man to see is he is really ready to follow him and work out his own salvation and also to show us that we should seek ye first the kingdom of God and ALL other things will be added to us.
On the other side Jesus said bird sleep in nest, foxes in holes, but the son of man has no where to put his head meaning the the rich who is young and energetic has to be without the riches before he can follow him. By: Lawrence Kumi Category: The Rich Young Man

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
It was a test. He wanted to know if the rich young man loved God or not. By: Winetta Ross Category: The Rich Young Man
Behold, one came to
him and said, "Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may
have eternal life?"
He said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is,
God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the
commandments." He said to him,
"Which ones?"
Jesus said, "'You shall not murder.' 'You shall
not commit adultery.' 'You shall not steal.' 'You shall not offer false
testimony.' 'Honor your
father and mother.' And, 'You shall love your neighbor as
yourself.'" The young man said to
him, "All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still
lack?"
Jesus said to him,
"If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have,
and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come,
follow me." But when the young man heard the
saying, he went away sad, for he was one who had great possessions.
Jesus said to his
disciples, "Most certainly I say to you, a rich man
will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty. Again I tell you, it is easier
for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter
into the Kingdom of God." When the disciples
heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, "Who then can be
saved?"
Looking at them,
Jesus said, "With men this is impossible, but with
God all things are possible." Then Peter answered,
"Behold, we have left everything, and followed you. What then will we
have?"
Jesus said to them,
"Most certainly I tell you that you who have followed
me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his
glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of
Israel. Everyone who has
left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or
children, or lands, for my name's sake, will receive one hundred times,
and will inherit eternal life. But many will be last who are
first; and first who are last.
