Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
man cannot serve God an mammon. Some people have gods disguised as money, power, fame, a job, etc all more important than their relationship with the Almighty God, our lord Jesus. This cannot work, cause you will be cheating God - who went great lenghts to redeem mankind. Our thanks to God is our daily love and devotion, our worship of God, not of posessions or titles.

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
Because Jesus wants the rich young man to be like him christ like giving to the poor. Obeying his commandments and following him into eternal life. You see God doesn`t want us to just have great possessions but to keep him first in your life over all things including people. The scripture says But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6: 33

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
Because Jesus said Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle`s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God. His possessions must not be an obstacle between him and God. That is why, Jesus tells the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him.

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
To see how Faithfull he is to Jesus and God.. He knew that it would be difficult for the man to give up his earthly riches in order to get spiritual richnes.. The man loved his riches too much which is why he would enter the kingdom of heaven unless he gives them up

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
Jesus told the rich man to sell all hs posessions before coming to follow Him because he was testing his faith. No one can serve two masters at the same time. He was trying to see if his earthly treasures were more important than having external life. Jesus want us to be saved he is not concerned about all our earthly posessions we posess but the way we live her lives by obeying his commandments and keeping his word. We would be judged by the way we live our lives, the love we showed each other not by the wealth we possess. God loves us and he wants the best for us.

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
because our Lord is faithful to us, why shouldn`t we. we can not say we believe in Lord but in heart we are still seeking for earthly things. We can not test Him, because if we believe in Him and trust His Almighty, He`s always there for us.

The Rich Young Man

Behold, one came to him and said, "Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?"
He said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
He said to him, "Which ones?"
Jesus said, "'You shall not murder.' 'You shall not commit adultery.' 'You shall not steal.' 'You shall not offer false testimony.' 'Honor your father and mother.' And, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"
The young man said to him, "All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still lack?"
Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sad, for he was one who had great possessions. Jesus said to his disciples, "Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God."
When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?"
Looking at them, Jesus said, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Then Peter answered, "Behold, we have left everything, and followed you. What then will we have?"
Jesus said to them, "Most certainly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life. But many will be last who are first; and first who are last.
