What was it about Jesus` answer that caused the Pharisees and Herodians to marvel?
As a Pharisees who expert in Law of Moses, they even cant differentiate between tithe and tax. Two of this are relevent; we must pay because Goverment give facility to citizen from tax money while by paying tithe to church, God bless us in our health, salary, job, our kids and everything in our life ''Malachi 3:10''. Jesus never said it and we never read in bible that YOU SHALL NOT PAY TAX eventhough during Jesus time people hate the Tax collectors. It is our duty to pay tax and also our duty to pay tithe to church. But tax is tax and tithe is tithe. That is what Jesus mean in by ''`Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar`s, and to God the things that are God`s`''. This are the reason why the Pharisees and Herodians marvel to our Jesus almighty.

What was it about Jesus` answer that caused the Pharisees and Herodians to marvel?
Jesus answer amazed the Pharisees and the Herodians when he made them realize that you have to pay your debts, give unto Caesar what is due to the earhtly authorities by paying your taxes and to God you give your offering. Do not confuse the two. In the world we live in we have to pay our debts and do not try to be hypocritical, because our God is the judge. Some of us feel that our Heavenly Father does not want us to pay our debts but he does.

What was it about Jesus` answer that caused the Pharisees and Herodians to marvel?
Because Jesus was always honest and true to God, the Pharisees could not understand that. They sought to trick Him, but failed miserably! Because the Pharisees were dishonest, and self seeking, they marvelled at Jesus answer as it was not something they would have thought of.

Two things is Jesus what he wants to emphasize on us; earthly things and heavenly things. earhtly thing consists with our daily life while on earth. heavenly thing consists with our personal relationship with our God almighty thru Jesus our Lord. That if you put together and walk thru his guidance and glorious will. well..we will say it that it is a perfect life journey.

Paying Taxes to Caesar

Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk. They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter who you teach, for you aren't partial to anyone. Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, "Why do you test me, you hypocrites? Show me the tax money."
They brought to him a denarius.
He asked them, "Whose is this image and inscription?"
They said to him, "Caesar's."
Then he said to them, "Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
When they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away.
